SAN FRANCISCO — Theo Ellington has won the race for District 10 supervisor, according to early results, and will succeed Supervisor Shamann Walton.

Ellington, who was born and raised in the Bayview, led Dion-Jay “DJ” Brookter after ranked-choice tallies, with J.R. Eppler eliminated, and declared victory Tuesday night. The San Francisco Chronicle called the race, Mission Local reported.

District 10 covers the Bayview, Hunters Point, Visitacion Valley, Potrero Hill and Dogpatch. Ellington is expected to take office in January.

Results are unofficial until certified. This report draws on Mission Local and the San Francisco Standard.
